Meet Dave Tancredi
Dedicated to the community he grew up in.
Dave Tancredi is a fourth generation Delawarean who grew up in Newark and has spent the last several decades volunteering and working in the state.
The Tancredi and Galuska families have a long history working and living in Delaware. On his fathers side of the family, his grandparents and great grandparents worked at the Electric Hose and Rubber plant in Wilmington
On his mothers side of the family, his grandfather was a printer for the News Journal. One great uncle was a postal worker. Another was a two-time state weightlifting champion.

Dave's family instilled in him the importance of community and looking after those in need. His father was a union carpenter who taught him the importance of duty and service. His mother was a dietician in a burn ward and conveyed the importance of compassion and kindness.
Dave was the first member of his fathers side of the family to get a college education. He earned an electrical engineering degree from the University of Delaware while working nights at Agilent to pay for tuition.
Dave has worked at Delmarva Power for over twenty years. His specific job for the last fifteen years is to visit the homes of low-income and distressed households to investigating the causes of their extremely high bills.
"Since COVID, I've watched more Delaware families struggle to pay their electric bills, to pay for their groceries, or be able to fix their homes. As Treasurer, I hope to advocate for their needs. That doesn't just mean helping families become more financially secure. It means arguing for more direct assistance for those that need it."

Over the years, Dave has served in a number of community roles. Dave was previously active with the New Castle County Civic League and the Vice President of the Milltown Limestone Civic Alliance. He's worked with and volunteered in a number of charitable organizations including the United Way, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the Food Bank. Dave currently advises on public transit issues as a member of the WILMAPCO Public Advisory Committee.
